TEAS Information

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a nationally recognized assessment tool used as part of the admissions and selection process at CGTC for the Competitive Health Science Program. The TEAS is a multiple-choice assessment measuring basic academic preparedness in reading, math, science, English, and language usage. The objectives assessed in the test are those that nursing and allied health educators deem most relevant for measuring the entry-level skills and abilities of program applicants. The test not only predicts the performance of incoming candidates, it also helps educators gain advanced knowledge of the strengths and areas needing development of those that are accepted into the program.

Exam scores are valid until a new version of the exam is released. Each individual must purchase their own testing reservation. The exam is offered at CGTC campuses.

TEAS exam scores for consideration in health selection are due by the published deadline. No late TEAS exam scores will be accepted. If an applicant has taken the ATI TEAS exam at another institution, the official TEAS Transcript must be received electronically at CGTC through ATI by the published deadline. CGTC will not accept any paper copies of ATI TEAS scores. CGTC will only accept TEAS exam scores proctored in-person/on-campus at an institution or testing center. TEAS exams must be taken in person; "TEAS Online Remote Proctored" exam scores will not be considered for selection.
