JBER Testing Center Rules

To maintain a secure, quiet, and professional testing environment, all examinees must follow these rules:

  1. Identification is required. Examinees must present a current, unexpired photo ID. No exceptions will be made. Acceptable identification includes:
    • Military ID
    • Passport
    • Driver’s license or state-issued ID
    • Current high school or college ID, such as a UAA WolfCard or school district ID
  2. Children are not permitted in the testing room. Testing Center staff cannot supervise or provide childcare. Examinees who arrive with children must ensure they are supervised at all times by another responsible individual.
  3. Electronic devices are prohibited during testing. Cell phones, music players, and other electronic devices must be powered off and stored in the examinee’s assigned locker. Devices may not be accessed during breaks unless specifically permitted by the exam sponsor.
  4. Watches are not permitted in the testing room. This includes both traditional and smart watches.
  5. Personal belongings must be stored before testing. Items that fit must be placed in the examinee’s assigned locker. Backpacks and other oversized items must be stored as directed by Testing Center staff or left in the examinee’s vehicle. The Testing Center is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.
  6. Food and drinks are prohibited in the testing room. Food, candy, chewing gum, and beverages must be stored in the examinee’s locker or discarded before testing.
  7. Testing materials will be provided when authorized. Scratch paper, erasable note boards, markers, pencils, calculators, or other materials will be provided when permitted or required for an exam. All Testing Center materials must be returned to the proctor before leaving.
  8. Examinees may not leave the building during breaks. Some exams also restrict restroom use during testing. Examinees are responsible for reviewing the policies and procedures for their specific exam before arriving at the Testing Center.
  9. Talking is not permitted in the testing room except when communicating with a proctor.
  10. Visitors are not permitted in the testing room or secure testing area. This includes friends, family members, parents, tutors, reporters, photographers, filmmakers, government officials, solicitors, and other individuals who are not authorized to be present. Interviews with examinees or staff may occur outside the secure testing area with the individual’s consent.
  11. Testing security violations will be reported. Any examinee who gives or receives unauthorized assistance, possesses unauthorized materials, or violates testing or security requirements may be required to stop testing and leave the Testing Center. The incident will be reported, as applicable, to the testing organization, school or institution, and/or the UAA Dean of Students Office.
