Testing Center Policy
LEARNING CENTER TESTING POLICY
*All testers must present a current photo ID in order to test.
Scheduling: Most appointments require at least 24 hours in advance. Scheduling can be done online at the testing originators site (Pearson, PSI, Meazure, GED, etc.) or at kpc.alaska.edu/testing for other tests. If you have any questions, please call the testing center at 907-262-0227.
Test Time Allotted: All tests must be completed within the allotted time. If a test is 'untimed,' it is the student’s responsibility to complete the test within the posted business hours identified for test proctoring. Once a test has been started, it must be completed in one sitting unless arranged ahead of time by the instructor and the test center.
Personal Items: All personal items must be left outside of the testing room. We do have small lockers available for storage; however, we are not responsible for any lost or stolen personal belongings. If your exam allows for open book materials, you may bring the physical book; however, you will not be allowed to use an e-book or other electronic device.
Unauthorized Items: Any item already not allowed on the college campus (weapons, knives, tobacco products, etc.), cell phones, watches, recording devices of any sort, any electronic or digital devices not required for medical needs, books, notes, calculators, or other materials not specifically written in the testing instructions given to the proctor from the instructor PRIOR to testing. Opening a new tab/window on the internet during computer-based testing IS NOT ALLOWED.
We can provide pencils, scratch paper, a basic calculator, and computer access as allowed by the pre-arranged test instructions. All materials used, including provided scratch paper, must be turned in to the proctor at the completion of the test.
Talking: There is no talking in the testing room.
Food/Drink: No food, drinks, or tobacco is allowed in the testing center.
Test Room Monitoring: A proctor will be in the Test Center at all times. All activities are recorded by CCTV in the Testing Room.
+In keeping with UA Policies and Regulations regarding academic misconduct, students may not share any information stemming from or relating to the content of the exam with other individuals who are due to take the same exam.
