Information about test day

All Exams:

  • No one will be admitted to an exam without a non-expired, government issue photo ID. This ID must be present, it cannot be a photo of the ID. In the case of ACCUPLACER some school IDs may be acceptable.
  • Students are provided scratch-paper and pencils.  There is no need to bring your own, you will not be able to use it.
  • Any item besides the ID will be left in a locker.  Space can be limited, so it is advised that examinees bring only items they will absolutely need.

CLEP:

  • Check with your advisor or university policies for eligibility and minimum score requirements.
  • Important: Bring two forms of ID. One form of ID must be your driver's license, passport or state issued ID.
  • CLEP tests are computer-based, and are 90 minutes long.  The optional essay for English Literature exams is written with pencil and paper.
  • You will get a printout of your CLEP score immediately following the test.  Optional essays do not have an immediate grading, as they are graded by the English department.
  • It takes on average three weeks for your school to receive your score.  It can be as short as 2 weeks and as long as 6 weeks.
  • Retesting is limited, check the CLEP site for the current retest policy.

ACCUPLACER: Admissions Testing for Georgia State University applicants only

  • The ACCUPLACER test is not timed as a whole; however the WritePlacer is timed.  
  • Calculators are prohibited. There is a calculator on the screen that can be used on questions where it is allowed.

ACCUPLACER: Math Placement:

  • There is no test fee for taking the math placement test for the first time. However, students must pay a fee to re-take the math placement test on a walk in basis.
  • The Math Placement test is not timed. Scratch paper is provided.
  • Calculators are prohibited. There is a calculator on the screen that can be used on questions where it is allowed.

Independent Proctoring Services:

  • Appointments are scheduled in consultation with us after we have received approval from your school or organization (if necessary) and have received your exam materials or proctoring information.
