Why do I need a Panther ID # to take the ACCUPLACER or Math Placement exam for GSU?
The Panther ID Number is a unique identifier, and is used to match your scores with your record so that you can be admitted using your scores and so that you can register for classes without error by meeting pre-requisites. If you were to test without a Panther ID#, your scores would only be in the ACCUPLACER database where it would not be applicable to your application or registration. To not delay your admissions decision, or registration, you need to make sure that you use the correct Panther ID Number at the time of testing. Using other numbers will not match your scores to your application and record and can create problems during registration.
The "Applicant Number" on your application is not your Panther ID Number. A Panther ID Number is a 9 digit number, beginning with either a "00" or "90"
Note that you do not need to test prior to submitting an application to Georgia State University. The Panther ID Number is typically generated 24-48 hours after you've applied to the university.
